Virtuous Samarcanda: Awarded a Legality Rating

The Italian Competition Authority rewards our company’s path of transparency and integrity

An important milestone in terms of corporate responsibility and transparency: Samarcanda has obtained the legality rating certification issued by the Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) through the rating tool.
The recognition, which appears in the company register and is valid for two years, follows a strict audit carried out by the Authority in collaboration with the National Anti-Corruption Authority (ANAC).

The high quality standards of the company’s procedures enabled it to pass all stages of the evaluation process, which included the analysis of workflows and internal regulations, the sharing of the code of ethics, and maximum transparency in administrative operations and financial flows.
A fundamental part of the evaluation process involved the personal integrity and legality of the company’s top executives and administrative figures. This control also extended to Samarcanda’s supply chain (suppliers and subcontractors) and to the control mechanisms of logistics operations—such as those serving local commercial units within tourist facilities.
Other equally important evaluations addressed aspects related to corporate culture, process sustainability, and criteria for selection and inclusion in the workplace.

The recognition was requested by the company’s management as the culmination of a long-standing path of excellence and transparency—by no means taken for granted in the tourism sector.
Corporate responsibility, for industry leaders, also means paving the way and serving as a beacon for even the smallest organizations operating within a given industrial sector.
Beyond the tangible advantages in terms of access to public tenders and other benefits, the company’s “behavior,” analyzed in objective and qualitative terms, has been and remains a key element in the Authority’s assessment—and the greatest source of pride on the eve of what promises to be a demanding summer season, one for which the company is making the best possible preparations.
